An inspector responsible for this case commented: facility id:2042035 removal permit 107892 (1) 1,000 heating oil the tank was found during exploratory digging at the site there was no groundwater in the excavation at the time of the removal project the tank did contain several corrosion holes on the ends inspector obtained soil from the bottom of the excavation, form east wall, and form the west wall of the excavation inspector found no evidence of contamination at any of these points where soil was obtained the tank was cut with pneumatic nibbler and the interior was cleaned via an oil absorbent scrub there appears to be no release at this time .
